'Tale of a
Tub'
Working in the rat
race gives you little time to blink!
So annually, about this time, it’s to the Alps we go
And so we are in ‘Villard’ - with a glass of wine to drink
Sitting in the hot tub in the snow.
Weather
on the Monday was too foggy to see far
Steve said to Andy “Can you see which way to go? ”no”, so…
…lower down the mountain we found a cosy bar,
And planned ‘rotas’ for the hot tub in the snow.
Six
children in the chalet made Michael go quite white
Though for parents it is blissful to send kiddies down below
To watch the ‘tele’, play some games, chatter, laugh and fight…
…over which 4 share the hot tub in the snow.
As
well as coffee every morning with a cheery “Rise and Shine”
Michael took great care to tell us what we had to know…
…about pistes and shops, lift passes, pizza, snow-chains, bars and wine
And how to use the hot tub in the snow!”
At 9am
each morning we piled into the bus
And travelled in such style to the ‘ascenseur’ or tow
Then at 4pm we headed back through Villard Reculas
You’ve guessed it – to the hot tub in the snow!
Skiing
is our passion and we stayed out all day long
Injuries were gathered by the skiers, fast and slow
But it didn’t really matter because when it all went wrong
The ‘cure all’ was the hot tub in the snow.
Birthday
Cake or tapenade or pork or home-made bread
Hannah served Mike’s yummy food with a cheerful “Hello!”
And because we were not cooking, washing, serving, then instead…
…we were relaxing in the hot tub in the snow.
We all
enjoyed our week here in Michael’s lovely home and…
…tradition will continue, for next year we’ll head for snow
But one thing for sure from now on, wherever we may roam,
We’ll be looking for a hot tub – ho, ho, ho!
